NEWSPAPER : ITS UTILITY
In spite of the developments in technology and the advent of electronic media, one thing which has never lost its utility is newspaper. Newspaper is the record of the important events occurring all over the world every moment. It also presents the views of its editor and many other experts on various topics and issues. Thus it not only helps us to stay updated but also have an insight into the matters of our respective interests. Apart from providing information and knowledge about national and world politics, current affairs, social trends, business and finance, etc, newspaper also plays a major role in entertaining us. There are separate pages for sports as well as cinema, theatre, TV programmes, art and literature, etc. Newspaper is an integral part of our life. It is called ‘The fourth estate’, that signifies its position as a fourth branch of Government which is essential for a functional democracy. It is the ideal platform to form public opinion against all kinds of injustice. It also serves as a useful forum to express grievances and seek redressal.
