A FILM YOU HAVE RECENTLY SEEN
The film I have seen recently is ‘Badshahi Angti.’ It is a film from the Feluda series-the popular detective films based on the stories written by the eminent author and filmmaker Shri Satyajit Ray. In fact, this is one of the earlier novels of the Feluda series which narrates the adventure of Mr Prodosh Chandra Mitra alias Feluda-the fictitious detective character who captures the heart of Bengali readers, especially the young ones. The film is directed by Shri Sandip Ray, the son of Shri Satyajit Ray. The film begins with Feluda and Topshe visiting Lucknow on vacation. The story and the film revolve around the search of a bejewelled ring of the Mughal period. The ring gets lost from the custody of Rajenbabu, the host of Feluda and Topshe in Lucknow. Feluda, having solved a couple of cases before, gets down to investigation. The suspense intensifies as the film. progresses. Besides many interesting characters, the presence of a python, a rattle snake, a black widow spider, a blue scorpion etc, adds to the thrill of the film. Lucknow along with its ancient buildings serve as the ideal background for the mystery to unfold. The brilliant performance of all the characters livens the thriller. Last but not the least, Sandip Ray, as the director of the film, lives up to the expectations of the spectators. Overall, ‘Badshahi Angti’ is a film worth watching.
