A DOG AND ITS MASTER
Points: Colonel Palton—went hunting—his faithful dog barks as he sleeps—soon awakened—the master gets angry-fired at his pet and killed—then he noticed a snake hanging from a tree-realised the dog’s intention—broke down in tears for the pet.
Once there was a hunter. His name was Colonel Palton. He had a dog. The dog was very faithful. One day Colonel Palton went to a forest for hunting. At night he put up a tent and went to bed. Suddenly he heard his dog barking. He woke up. He was very angry with his pet for disturbing his sleep. He tried to stop the dog from barking. But the pet continued it. Colonel Palton then fired at the dog and killed it. At that moment his eyes fell on a nearby tree. A snake was hanging there. The dog had been barking to warn him against that danger. Colonel Palton realised it. He then broke down in tears for his loyal pet.
Moral: Haste makes waste.
একটি কুকুর এবং তার প্রভু
একদা একজন শিকারি ছিল। তার নাম ছিল কর্নেল পল্টন। তার একটা কুকুর ছিল। কুকুরটা খুব বিশ্বস্ত ছিল। একদিন কর্নেল পল্টন শিকার করতে বনে গেল। রাতে সে তাবু খাটিয়ে শুতে গেল। হঠাৎ সে শুনল কুকুরটা ডাকছে। সে উঠে পড়ল। তার ঘুম ভাঙানাের জন্য সে পােষ্যটার ওপর খুব রেগে গেল। সে কুকুরটার ডাকা বন্ধ করার চেষ্টা করল। কিন্তু পােষ্যটা তা চালিয়েই গেল। তখন কর্নেল পল্টন কুকুরটাকে গুলি করে মেরে ফেলল। সেই মুহূর্তে তার চোখ পড়ল কাছের একটা গাছে। একটা সাপ সেখানে ঝুলছিল। কুকুরটা ওই বিপদ সম্পর্কে সতর্ক করার জন্য ডাকছিল। কর্নেল পল্টন এটা বুঝতে পারল। সে তখন তার বিশ্বস্ত পোষ্যের জন্য কান্নায় ভেঙে পড়ল।
