Freedom – Paragraph Writing

FREEDOM
Freedom is one of the fundamental rights which all humans possess since birth. It is considered to be a state of mind and holds a different meaning to everyone. For some people, freedom means to eat whatever they like, go wherever they want, say whatever they feel, while for others, it means to live wherever they want and choose whichever profession they like. Hence, freedom means to live life according to one’s own choice.
In a democratic country, as well as in the whole world, every citizen has the right to live and to not get killed by others. This is known as the freedom of life which is protected by law. The most important fundamental right associated with freedom is the freedom of speech. It guarantees that every citizen in a democratic country has the right to express his/her own thoughts and criticise others’ opinions, without any fear. This is closely related to the freedom of the press, that represents the voice of the people and provides them with all types of news and information. Freedom of women is a vital aspect of the society. In different parts of the world, women are made victims of oppression, violence and discrimination even today. Hence, all women should be free from scars of abuse, harassment, violence and all types of discriminations.
Freedom of an individual, however, is not absolute -it has some limitations. While enjoying his own freedom, one should ensure that he is respectful towards everyone else in the society and does not harm their feelings in any way. So, with freedom comes the duty to be vigilant about not violating others’ rights.
When one respects others’ freedom and rights, one may achieve the true freedom of the mind which would ultimately lead to happiness.
