The person spoken to is the Tsar who decided to consult the hermit to get answers of the three questions that had once occurred to him.
The speaker advised to remember that there is just one time that is of significance -‘Now!’ It is the most important time since it is the sole moment when we have any power. The most essential person is he/she with whom you are, as no man knows if he/ she will ever come into contact with anyone else and the utmost important work is to do good to that person since to serve that purpose alone God sent man into this world.
