The man known as captain cool, a proud son of India was born on July 7th 1981. This right-handed batsman and wicket keeper made his debut for India in 2004 in ODI against Bangladesh. He made his debut in test cricket in 2006. He captained Indian Cricket team in limited overs cricket from 2007 to 2016. He had led the team in test cricket from 2008 to 2014. Dhoni has to his credit T-20 championship victory in 2007 and Asia cups in 2010 and 2016 respectively. He led India to victory in Asia cup 2013, Cricket World cup 2011, Champions Trophy 2013, Border-Gavaskar Trophy in test cricket in 2008, 2010 and 2013. He is the only wicket keeper in India having the record of taking 300 catches standing behind the wickets. In the IPL tournament, Dhoni has captained Chennai Super Kings. This outstanding performer is the recipient of ICC ODI player of the year award in 2008 and 2009, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2007, Padma Shri (2009) and Padma Bhushan (2018). Dhoni has retired from international cricket in 2020 a biopic has also been made on his cricket hero. Though he has taken retirement but his contribution will always be remembered.
