Sir, 
Please allow me some space in your esteemed daily to express my grievance regarding thoughtless use of loudspeakers and sound boxes during different programmes and festivals. Almost all the programmes organized nowadays seem to aim at destroying our peace of mind. By using loudspeakers and sound boxes thoughtlessly, organizers cause sound pollution. Cardiac patients and students are the worst victims. Aged people lose their sleep. We have heard of rules and regulations about the time limit and decibel limit in this regard. But we hardly have seen any stern action to implement them. Unless the police and administration become active, this menace will keep growing day by day. An editorial on this issue is most welcome.

বিভিন্ন উৎসব অনুষ্ঠানে লাউডস্পিকার এবং সাউন্ড বক্সের বেপরােয়া ব্যবহারের বিষয়ে আমার অভিযােগ জানানাের জন্য দয়া করে আপনার বিখ্যাত সংবাদপত্রে আমাকে একটু জায়গা দিন। আজকাল যত অনুষ্ঠানের আয়ােজন করা হয় মনে হয় সেগুলাের একমাত্র লক্ষ্য হল মনের শান্তি ধ্বংস করা। বেপরােয়াভাবে লাউডস্পিকার এবং সাউন্ড বক্স ব্যবহার করে আয়ােজকরা শব্দদূষণ ঘটায়। সবচেয়ে বেশি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয় হূদরােগী আর ছাত্রছাত্রীরা। বয়স্ক ব্যক্তিদের নিশ্চিন্ত ঘুম হারিয়ে যায়। এ বিষয়ে সময়সীমা এবং ডেসিবেলের মাত্রা সংক্রান্ত নিয়মকানুনের কথা শুনেছি। কিন্তু সেগুলাে প্রয়ােগ করতে কখনও কারােকে কঠোর পদক্ষেপ নিতে দেখিনি বললেই হয়। যতক্ষণ না পুলিশ প্রশাসন সক্রিয় হচ্ছে, ততদিন এই বিপদ দিন দিন বাড়বে। এই বিষয়ে একটা সম্পাদকীয়কে স্বাগত জানাই।
