A SCHOOL ORGANISED ROAD SAFETY DAY

Kolkata, January 19: Ariadaha Sarbamangala Balika Vidyalaya celebrated Road Safety Day today with enthusiasm. This was organised with the co-operation of the local Belghoria Police Station and the teachers and students of the school. The programme was inaugurated by the Police Commissioner of Kolkata, Surajit Kar Purakayastha, at 10 in the morning. It started with a kiosk being put up at Rathtala More to control the traffic and create awareness among the drivers of vehicles and the pedestrians. The programme generated a lot of enthusiasm among the people. They came forward, spoke to the students and praised them for their noble effort. This is the second time that Sarbamangala School has come up with such a campaign. More and more schools should follow the footsteps of this school and collectively fight to stop road accidents.

কলকাতা, জানুয়ারি ১৯: আড়িয়াদহ সর্বমঙ্গলা বালিকা বিদ্যালয় কর্তৃক পথ নিরাপত্তা দিবস উৎসাহ সহকারে পালিত হল। অনুষ্ঠানটি আয়ােজিত হয়েছিল স্থানীয় বেলঘরিয়া থানা এবং স্কুলের শিক্ষিকা ও ছাত্রীদের সহযােগিতায়। সকাল ১০টায় অনুষ্ঠানের উদবােধন করেন কলকাতার পুলিশ কমিশনার সুরজিৎ কর পুরকায়স্থ। যানবাহন নিয়ন্ত্রণ এবং ড্রাইভার ও পথচারীদের মধ্যে সচেতনতা বাড়াতে রথতলা মােড়ে একটি কিয়স্ক স্থাপনের মধ্য দিয়ে অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হয়। এই অনুষ্ঠান জনসাধারণের মধ্যে যথেষ্ট উৎসাহ উদ্দীপনার সৃষ্টি করেছিল। তারা স্বতঃস্ফূর্তভাবে এগিয়ে এসে ছাত্রীদের সঙ্গে কথা বলে এবং এধরনের মহতী প্রচেষ্টার জন্য তাদের ধন্যবাদ জানায়। এই নিয়ে দু-বার সর্বমঙ্গলা বিদ্যালয় এই ধরনের প্রচার কাজ চালাল। আরও বিদ্যালয়গুলির উচিত সর্বমঙ্গলা বিদ্যালয়ের প্রদর্শিত পথ অনুসরণ করা এবং পথ দুর্ঘটনা রােধ করার জন্য যৌথভাবে চেষ্টা করা।
