About The Poet and Poem (লেখক এবং কবিতা সম্পর্কে) :
William Wordsworth (1770-1850) was one of the pioneers of the English Romantic movement. Some of his noted works include Lines composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey, Ode on the Intimations of Immortality, Prelude.
উইলিয়াম ওয়ার্ডওয়ার্থ (১৭৭০-১৮৫০) ইংরেজি রোম্যান্টিক আন্দোলনের অন্যতম পথিকৃৎ ছিলেন। তার কয়েকটি উল্লেখযোগ্য রচনার মধ্যে রয়েছে “Lines composed a few miles above Tintern Abbey”, “Ode on the Intimations of Immortality”, “Prelude”.
The poet is touched by the untainted beauty of the morning over the city of London. In his poem, Wordsworth describes the pure and peaceful beauty of his city before the bustle and hurry of the day have started. The poet is moved by the somnolent beauty of the morning that wraps up the city in tranquility.
লন্ডন শহর জুড়ে ভোরের অচেনা সৌন্দর্য কবিকে ছুঁয়ে গেছে। এই কবিতায় ওয়ার্ডশ ওয়ার্থ দিনের হৈচৈ ও ব্যস্ততা শুরু হওয়ার আগেই তাঁর শহরের বিশুদ্ধ ও শান্তিপূর্ণ সৌন্দর্য বর্ণনা করেছেন। সকালের অতুলনীয় সৌন্দর্যে কবি অবিভুত হয়েছিলেন যা শহরকে প্রশান্তিতে মুড়ে দেয়।
: SUMMARY :
This poem is a sonnet. A sonnet is a short poem of fourteen lines, of which the first eight lines are called octave, which are followed by a turn of thought, called the volta. The last six lines is called sestet, which offers a new direction to the poem. In this poem, Wordsworth describes his native city of London. The poet is impressed by the beauty of his city in the early morning sunlight. The poet finds the majestic sight to be full of inspiration. The city is fully clothed in the beauty of the morning. The bustle and din of the day had not begun yet. The ships, the towers and the buildings are glimmering in the sun. The poet finds the unparalleled beauty of the morning spread over valleys, rocks and hills. It is a serene scene. The massive pulse of civilisation is lying in calm peace.

এই কবিতাটি একটি সনেট। একটি সনেট চৌদ্দ লাইনের একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত কবিতা, যার মধ্যে প্রথম আটটি রেখাকে ‘octave’ বলা হয়, যা ভাবনার দিকটি অনুসরণ করে, ‘volta’ বলে। শেষ ছয়টি লাইনকে বলা হয় ‘sestet’, যা কবিতায় একটি নতুন দিকনির্দেশনা উপস্থাপন করে। এই কবিতায় ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ তাঁর স্থানীয় শহর লন্ডনকে বর্ণনা করেছেন। সকালের সূর্যের আলোতে কবি তাঁর শহরের সৌন্দর্য দেখে মুগ্ধ হন। কবি গৌরবময় দৃষ্টি খুঁজে পান যা অনুপ্রেরণায় পূর্ণ বলে মনে করেন। শহরটি পুরোপুরি সকালের সৌন্দর্যে পরিহিত। দিনের ছুটাছুটি এবং হট্টগোল এখনও শুরু হয়নি। জাহাজ, মিনার এবং অট্টালিকাগুলি রোদে ঝলমল করছে। কবি উপত্যকা, শিলা ও পাহাড়ের উপর ছড়িয়ে থাকা সকালের অতুলনীয় সৌন্দর্য খুঁজে পান। এটি একটি শান্ত দৃশ্য। সভ্যতার বিশাল স্পন্দন নিথর শান্তিতে বিরাজ করছে।

নিস্তেজ(নিষ্প্রাণ) আত্মা হতে পারে তার যে পাশ কাটিয়ে চলে যেতে পারে
A sight so touching in its majesty:
একটি দৃশ্য এত মর্মস্পর্শী এর আপন মহিমায়:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear

The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
সকালের সৌন্দর্য; নিরব, সাজসজ্জাবিহীন
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie.
জাহাজ, মিনার গুলি , গম্বুজ, নাট্যশালা এবং মন্দিরগুলি শায়িত আছে।
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
মাঠ এবং আকাশ পর্যন্ত উন্মুক্ত;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
ধোঁয়াবিহীন বাতাসে সব কিছুই উজ্জ্বল এবং চকচকে।
Never did sun more beautifully steep
সূর্য আর কখনও এত বেশিরকম সুন্দর করে নি
In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill;
তাঁর প্রথম দ্যুতিতে , উপত্যকা, শিলা বা পাহাড়কে;
Ne’er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep! (Ne’er= Never)
কখন দেখেনি আমি, কখনও অনুভব করিনি, এত গভীর শান্তি!
The river glideth at his own sweet will:
নদীটি বয়ে চলেছে তার আপন সুমধুর ইচ্ছায় ধীরগতিতে:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
প্রিয় ঈশ্বর! প্রতিটি বাড়ি ঠিক যেন ঘুমিয়ে আছে বলে মনে হচ্ছে;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!
আর সেইসব শক্তিশালী(বা মহৎ) হৃদয় এখনও শুয়ে আছে!
